Obituary for Carl F. "Skeet" Frenz

LITTLE VALLEY — Carl F. “Skeet” Frenz, 89, of Little Valley, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday (Jan. 11, 2019) at his home.
He was born May 4,1929, in Jamestown, the son of the late Carl W. And Helen Rickert Frenz.
On June 15, 1957, he married the former Vivian Winship, who survives.
Mr. Frenz was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954, serving in the 60th Troop Carrier Group, 12th Troop Carrier Squadron, as a flight engineer on C-119 aircraft.
Carl was in partnership with his wife, Vivian, on their dairy farm, Elkdale Vue Farm, for many years, which won Farm of the Year and won the Soil Conversationalist Farmer of the Year.
Mr. Frenz was very active in the community, and was a board member on the Farm Bureau for many years as well as the Steamburg Milk Co-Op which won many quality milk awards; helped start Southwestern crop management; was on the Board of Assessors for the town of Little Valley; active with Cornell Co-Op Extension; member of Little Valley American Legion; Little Valley Senior Citizens; Jamestown Coin Club; First Congregational Church of Little Valley ; and the Ellicottville and Salamanca Historical Societies.
Besides his loving wife of 61 years, he is survived by a son, Tim (Dawn) Frenz of Aledo,Texas; four daughters, Pam (Tim) Zimbardi of Little Valley, Lynette Frenz of Little Valley, Wendy (Larry) Magiera of Baldwinsville and Shannon (Ryan Barrett) Frenz of Little Valley; and 14 grandchildren, Natasha (Kyle) Drum, Jared (Susie) Zimbardi, Jennesa (Jake Hannahs) Zimbardi, Elizabeth (Dan Strathdee) Magiera, Josh (Emily Pawlewicz) Magiera, Kari (Brad) Salois, Jameson, Jensine (Jose) Aucay, Kegan, Simeon, Miriam, Mathias, Micah and Lydia Frenz; and five great-grandchildren, Gage and Gianna Drum, Audrey and Vinny Zimbardi and Wyatt Salois; a sister, Delores ”Corky” Keller of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Frenz; and two sisters, Joyce Champlian and Barbara Johnson.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 11 am - Noon at Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 411 Rock City St. Little Valley. A celebration of life service with military honors will immediately follow at 12 pm Noon from the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to any church of the donors choice or Little Valley Memorial Library or the American Heart Association.
