Obituary for Martha Anna Fox

Little Valley — Martha A. Fox, 93, of Little Valley, passed away Saturday (Sept. 2, 2017) at ECMC in Buffalo. She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Gowanda, the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Belle (Spyre) Beckman. On April 6, 1943, she married Harmon L. Fox, who predeceased her on March 3, 2007. Mrs. Fox had been employed at Bush Industries in Little Valley, and also as a secretary at the Cattaraugus County Health Department. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Rebekah Lodge, Little Valley United Methodist Church and a social member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Little Valley. She is survived by a son, Russell Fox of Frewsburg; two daughters, Janice (Dick) Briggs of Cattaraugus and Mary Bailey of Little Valley; six grandchildren, Eric Briggs, Scott (Tracy) Lemk, Greta (Robert) Buchanon, Delenna Johnson, Steven (Jennifer) Fox and Douglas Fox; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her loving husband, she is predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Marvin Beckman. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2017) at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City Street in Little Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Liberty Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910, or Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.
