Obituary for Douglas M. Duguay

ELLICOTTVILLE — Douglas M. Duguay, 67, of Ellicottville, passed away Thursday, (Sept. 21, 2017). He was born May 13, 1950, in Buffalo, the son of the late Marshall and Betty Duguay. On March 8, 1986, he married Karen Wannstedt, who survives. Doug was a speech language pathologist at Sweet Home Central Schools for 33 years until his retirement. He then worked in sales for Simply Thick. He was an active member of the Sertoma Club, NYSLA and ASHA. Besides his loving wife of 31 years, he is survived by a son, Brian Detweiler; two daughters, Nicole (Bryce) Bowman and Erika (Dan) Hart; eight grandchildren; a brother, Marshall (Linda) Duguay; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Jack Duguay. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, (Sept. 29, 2017) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ellicottville. Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City Street, Little Valley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
